Wikipedia says “Documentary film is a broad category of visual expressions that is based on the attempt, in one fashion or another, to “document” reality.”
But don’t we already influence the reality that we want to document by the fact that we’re there with our camera and watch or simply by choosing the point of view?
Good documentaries are hard to find. Good means without influencing too much reality and without making the audience fall asleep.
