During the shooting of DON’T COME KNOCKING, Wim Wenders suddenly decides to give Roberto Angov the unique chance to act together with Sam Shephard and Jessica Lange. I won’t forget Wim’s words while he took my shoulders and looked deep into my eyes: “And remember, Roberto, less is more.” – “Ok, I said, won’t forget…”
Immediately after the scene was done, I asked for a print out.

Eva von Malotky assists Wim Wenders and his team, this time for the production of DON’T COME KNOCKING written by Pulitzer Price awarded Sam Shephard and with great actors such as Jessica Lange, Tim Roth, Gabriel Mann, Fairuza Balk, Sarah Polley and last but not least the wonderful grande dame of cinema Eva Marie Saint.

Howard Spence (Sam Shepard) has seen better days. Once a big Western movie star, he now drowns his disgust for his selfish and failed life with alcohol, drugs and young women. If he were to die now, nobody would shed a tear over him, that’s the sad truth. Until one day Howard learns that he might have a child somewhere out there. The very idea seems like a ray of hope that his life wasn’t all in vain. So he sets out to find that young man or woman. He discovers an entire life that he has missed …
